About Us
OUR STORY
Marple Residences is built on a foundation of resilience, integrity, and a commitment to community. Its story begins with Christopher Wagima, born in a quiet village on the slopes of Mount Elgon. Shaped by early loss, he developed a steadfast resolve and a tireless work ethic.
As an educator, he dedicated his life to nurturing patience, purpose, and resilience in those who crossed his path. He believed that every meaningful endeavour — whether shaping a life or building a legacy — was a process of steady, thoughtful effort.
“Anything worth having,” he would say, “must be built with care and intention, one step at a time.”
Inspired by his teachings, Christopher’s daughter created Marple Residences to embody his values. More than a collection of accommodations, it is a place where comfort, connection, and community come together. Designed with simplicity and purpose, each space offers a sanctuary for guests while uplifting the local community through sustainable practices and local partnerships.
Across Marple’s two locations, more than 30 team members from nearby communities have gained valuable training and opportunities, impacting their families and over 150 people in the wider community. Marple’s focus on empowering local talent reflects its commitment to fostering growth and sustainability in the regions around Mount Elgon and Kampala, while delivering hospitality that feels personal and purposeful.
